No. AnyMarker connects over OBS's own WebSocket server and never touches its plugin system. There's no build step, and nothing breaks when OBS updates. A plugin has to be rebuilt for every OBS release; AnyMarker doesn't.

Not yet. AnyMarker runs on macOS and Windows, which covers most streamers. StreamUp Chapter Marker Manager supports Linux, so pick that if Linux is a hard requirement.
